A 50th Birthday in Jamaica

For my step mom’s 50th birthday, we visited Montego Bay Jamaica. We were a group of nearly 20 of her close friends and our immediate family. Ranging in ages from seventeen to mid-sixties.

This was my first time in Jamaica, and we stayed pretty much exclusively in the resort aside from our excursions. We stayed at the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton, which is an all-inclusive.

Therefore, our 4 day trip consisted of lots of food and red, orange and green frozen drinks, more commonly known as the Bob Marley.

For one of our excursions we took a catamaran to Rick’s Cafe, which is famous for their blue water and cliff diving. My brother can be seen below, making the famous jump.

I did not personally partake in the cliff diving, but I did have a really good burger and can attest that Jamaica is home to some of the bluest water I had ever seen.

Overall, the resort provided lots of entertainment. From dance parties to shows, and games in the pool area during the day. The staff was very kind and accommodating. The rooms her nice and spacious, very classic - but if you’re looking for an updated, modern feel it might not be your style. All in all, we had a great trip together as a family and would definitely plan something like this again.
